Senior National Account Manager (Food Sector)

Location: Ideally Midlands based within a commutable distance to Coventry, Bury St Edmunds, Harlow and Malton

Salary offered will be based on experience

This role is hybrid, based on site/remote with customer visits

We are looking for someone who will be dedicated to our Aldi account. In this role as our new Senior National Account Manager you will be responsible for the strategic direction and planning of the account and you will play a big part in our future success.


You will be joining our growing commercial team. Understanding the customer as well as the wider competitive landscape and market will be key to delivering in this new role.


The Company


The CPC Foods Group is an integrated food manufacturer offering a full farm to fork solution to our customers. We are a well-respected family business and producer of a range of protein products, including bacon, gammon, sausages and ready meals, as well as a wide range of added value products. We supply into major multiples, discounters, convenience retailers and the food service.


As our new Senior National Account Manager your role will include:

  • Establish direction by developing strategies to attain long term goals

  • Develop and implement agreed JBPs that deliver volume and contribute to all stakeholders

  • Develop and implement Strategic Category plans for our Aldi account

  • Develop and deliver commercial proposals and category insights to customers’ buying teams

  • Plan and negotiate promotional plans to drive profitable incremental sales

  • Interpret food trends and competitor performance to support initiatives that will enhance your customer’s performance

  • Lead the day-to-day relationships at Buying Director level and support at Group Director level within Aldi

  • Work closely with Marketing and NPD teams to develop commercially viable products and product ranges in line with customer or internal briefs

  • Manage internal stakeholders to ensure the accurate, effective and timely communication of any commercial activity that impacts on the overall site performance

  • Play a lead role in generating business development opportunities in new categories through the generation of strong insights and customer and category-led development plans

Skills and experience required:

  • Relevant experience within a similar role within FMCG (CHECK)

  • Must have proven experience with Aldi – ideally in protein or chilled food

  • Passionate about food

  • Good with data and strong written communication skills

  • A comprehensive knowledge of all commercial aspects of food manufacturing and proactive approach to business issues

  • Strong commercial knowledge with established relationships

  • Strong presentation skills

  • A team player with a flexible approach to work

  • Organisational and project management skills to assist with critical path deadlines and project priorities
